Bottom edge of indian print harem pants

For each caravan, we trust our designer Zahra to dream up (literally!) a new costume. In 2008, we used saris of sometimes nine yards in length from which to build harem pants, plus the top. 2009 costumes centered around a voluminous skirt pattern, featuring one or two flounces that ripple beautifully when we turn. Believe it or not, the 2010 costume has already been conceived, again using fabric from India. We are all well on our way to completing the finished look which will include fabulously embellished hip scarves, coins, and headpieces.

Additionally, we will be reviving the 2008 Caravan costume with several updates for this year’s performance. Our new dancers are dilligently building these costumes which include many beautiful (time-consuming) details.
